Honoring Our Special Needs Kids!

A few of our special needs kids (actually, adults!) - Joemar, Maria, and Arlene - have been a part of a special P.E. class this year on Saturday mornings.  The teacher of this class is actually the same person who teaches P.E. classes to the rest of our kids on Thursdays.  Teacher Al has done a remarkable job with all of our kids this year, and especially with the P.E. class for special needs kids.  Joemar, Maria, and Arlene have loved the class and been challenged in many areas physically.  It was one of Joemar's main topics of conversation, whether he was talking about the class coming up in a few days, or about it just happening the last Saturday!

Teacher Al held a special "graduation" ceremony for the participants of the class last weekend.  There were special presentations, an explanation of the program, and certificates for all the class participants!  Joemar, Maria, and Arlene have all lived at CSC for many years and will continue to live here for many years.  With their limited cognitive abilities and Arlene's blindness, it is hard to think of where they might be if they hadn't ever come to CSC.  Here, they can live well, thrive, and enjoy life!  We are so proud of them for all of their hard work this year!
