Grand Re-opening of EICHER!!

After many months (actually, years!) of dreaming, planning, and non-stop hard work, CSC now has three houses open on our main property! (Including the Teen Home a couple miles away, we have four!) Once the new Duterte house opened, everyone in the Eicher house moved to Duterte. Then the Cherne crew moved to Eicher for a few weeks while the Cherne home deserved a much-needed facelift. Once the Cherne "family" moved back into their rennovated home, repairs started on the empty Eicher home. It was recently finished, and it looks spectacular!

Just as in the Cherne home, all the floors and the stairs were refinished, more lights and fans were added, new cubbies for the kids were made, bathrooms were redone, and the kitchen got a wonderful makeover, including new cupboards and stainless steel! Here are some pictures of the rennovated Eicher home before anyone moved in. Some of the Duterte and Cherne girls are helping to model the lovely rooms! :)
In the bathrooms, the tiles were redone and the counter was replaced. One side of the counter was moved lower. The smaller children will appreciate this change! :)
Then came time for the decorating and cleaning! The nursery, playroom, and bedrooms got new borders/decals. All the rooms also got new curtains, which make them very bright and colorful!

Once the home opened, our new houseparents and their two kids moved in. Just a few days later, we had our official re-opening of the Eicher home, taking in eight new CSC kids! Everyone was very excited for this big step in CSC's ministry!!

Welcome to your new home! There was a mad dash for the door when the "OK" was given!
Checking out the rooms
Even our new little baby was smiling!
Girls excited about their cubbies!
Big smiles about their bathroom! (Called a "C.R." here for "Comfort Room")
Boys checking out their cubbies
Trying out the bed - these kids have probably never had real beds before.
Didn't take long for them to become typical CSC kids and stare out the windows, saying hello to people passing by! It's normal to arrive on the grounds of CSC and be greeted by sounds of your name being shouted out of random windows!
Not quite sure what to think of the mirror!
Continuing the tour

Over the many years this ministry has been in existence, CSC kids have NEVER missed a meal!
Check out those shiny floors! They might not last very long! ;)
The boys were already settling in later on, enjoying the coloring books!
Prayer Walk through the new house
As the Eicher house slowly adds more children, it will eventually reach capacity at 30 kids! This, of course, means lots more laundry at CSC. The laundry room is in the process of being expanded to meet the increasing laundry needs here.
A huge welcome to DonDon, Ivy, their son and daughter, and our new Eicher residents! Praise the Lord for His continued faithfulness to this ministry and for providing the resources for us to be able to open the Duterte home and rennovate the Cherne and Eicher homes. Many staff and workers put more hours than can be counted into making these houses look so amazing. We now have the ability to help even more Filipino children in the coming days. Thanks also to all our supporters and prayer warriors!!!
