Kingdom Workers

In my seven months here in Cebu, I have gotten pretty well acquainted with my "Cebu family". The CSC missionary staff here does indeed become family, as we spend so much time together. We live near each other, work together, eat many meals together, have fun together, spend holidays together, and most importantly...love these kids together! When you spend this much time with people, you get to know them pretty well. In getting to know them even better these last few months, I have realized in a big way how much God has blessed this ministry in and through this staff. He has been able to use them in huge ways, in response to their obedience to His calling on their lives.

As I watch them do ministry day-in and day-out here, I am amazed by their passion for CSC and their incredible work ethic. It is inspiring to see their continued faith that God will provide for each and every need that CSC has, even in a tough economy. It is humbling to think about the sacrifices they have made (some of them for multiple decades) to be here and to keep this ministry running like a well-oiled machine. It is amazing to see them welcome ongoing visitors and adoptive families with open arms and hearts. It is hilarious to see the things they will do to make the kids laugh or just to put a smile on their faces. It is beautiful to see their deep love for the children, especially knowing that they have loved nearly 800 children over the years with the same deep love.

Ministry with 75 children is not always perfect or easy, especially in a foreign country! However, even in the midst of the struggles of everyday life, this staff consistently strives to make CSC the best that it can be so that the lives of these precious children can be the best that they can be.

So, this blog is dedicated to my CSC colleagues/family. Paul, Marlys, Sandy, Mitch, Ruth, Tammy, Joel, and Shari (and even Andrew, who is gone now) - Keep up the awesome work, and thanks for your dedication to bettering the lives of these precious Filipino children and furthering the Kingdom of God. It has not gone unnoticed!
