Sometimes when I taught in MN, kids would bring an apple for me. They would proudly present it, then anxiously await the moment when I would eat it and rave about how yummy it was! Here in Cebu, the kids often will strut into the school gates carrying a flower that they plucked from the bushes at the shelter. They proudly hand the beautiful flower to their teacher, and watch to make sure she places it perfectly behind her ear! My kids especially like bringing me purple flowers since it's my favorite color - and they are quick to point out that they picked it especially for that reason!
